The 2025 Global Digest from WIN uncovers how people worldwide are redefining health, equality, and lifestyle in an era of rapid change. From rising stress and the mindfulness movement to evolving perceptions of age, gender gaps, sleep health, and the role of sports in social inclusion, these findings spotlight the trends that matter most.
The Worldviews Survey, conducted annually by the Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research (WIN), captures attitudes from over 35,000 respondents across 40 countries. Here are the five major global trends shaping health, equality, and lifestyle:
- Mental Health & Meditation
Stress remains widespread, with 64% of people reporting stress and younger adults most affected. Meditation and mindfulness have surged as coping mechanisms, especially among younger people, blending traditional practices with modern wellness trends.
- Population & Age Perceptions
People feel “young” for fewer years and “old” earlier than before—on average, youth ends at 41 and old age begins at 53. Cultural, economic, and technological pressures accelerate these shifts, challenging traditional age classifications and creating opportunities for brands to rethink segmentation.
- Gender Equality Gaps
Perceptions of equality at home and work often fail to match reality. Women still perform most domestic chores globally, despite improved perceptions. Violence against women shows statistical declines, but cultural and policy-driven disparities persist.
- Sleep Crisis
Poor sleep is rising globally, affecting 38% of people, with technology-driven late nights as a major culprit—especially among young adults. This trend signals an emerging public health challenge.
- Sports & Exercise Inclusion
Physical activity is increasing worldwide (42% exercise regularly), but gender and socioeconomic gaps remain. Women’s sports are gaining visibility and sponsorship, yet access to exercise is still uneven across regions.
